Two weeks left!

Sorry I didn’t post anything yesterday I was cleaning up the house and afterwards I was so sweaty and tired I just pooped out! And I can proudly say I’ve done enough housework that the joint in my knuckles cracked and bled yesterday from hand washing all my clothes….I can wait to have machines again. I also stubbed the bottom of my toe so I’m walking with a mild limp, and a pain in my neck I’m praying goes away because otherwise I need to go get tested for malaria. I doubt I have it but just in case its better to catch that one early! Other than falling apart physically everything is going well. I can feel the difference between the heat from April to May. In April I was sweating so much during interviews I had to wipe it away from my face and now I and just dab it away! J I’m glad everyone survived the end of the world, Mr. Campbell should do better advertising in Burkina because no one mentioned it here. But yesterday when I went to the grocery store I realized just how much I miss food so available to me in the US or Sweden so for dinner splurged and bought a baguette and some goat cheese, I was in heaven. Best dinner yet!

I’ve been somewhat able to control my bug situation now; I take the trash out everyday, and use this heavy-duty toxic spray once a week after cleaning the floors. Mirabelle says she sprays her bed with it, but id rather not have this stuff on my skin. So far it seems under control but I may have just jinxed myself writing this.

I know I’ve told you before about the storms here, but I need to share the one that happened two days ago. Just as Mirabelle and I were heading home from the office we stepped outside the office door, which is always a terrible experience going from air conditioned to humidity, but this time it was so humid it was dripping wet. The sky was a weird brown color and Mirabelle said that a big storm was coming and we should wait. We went back inside and within 5 minutes huge dust clouds began blowing every which way, little tornadoes and then heavy rainfall. It lasted about an hour and by that time it was dark. She said we could go now and as we drive along in the dark you hear the crack of the thunder and in front of you shines 3 HUGE lighting bolts. It was breathtaking. It lit the sky like fireworks on new years. But the colors were a deep blue or purple and bright white. It was lovely. The whole drive home every 4 minutes or so a new flash provided a big of light, it was actually magical. Sadly however the day after a rainfall is always the hottest so the next day I suffer quite a bit…
