Lunch

Everyday Mirabelle and I eat lunch at IRD. We eat here for the sole reason that it only cost us 60 cents to eat lunch here. To get to the “cafeteria” we have to walk about three minutes to a hut on the outskirts of the property where tables have been set up, with a little kitchen. The woman behind the counter is like Paula Deen with a less sunny personality. She only serves 5 different meals, Monday

-Friday it is always the same. One day it is a slow cooked rice in a tomato sauce, another day its pasta, the next it’s a cabbage type of rice, then fish with tomato sauce and rice and finally cow with tomato sauce and rice. If it wasn’t so cheap I wouldn’t eat there everyday but its just so easy and cheap. She actually has been told she needs to leave as the cook here because her food is so awful so I think she leaves at the end of this month. And to be honest its okay to eat it once or twice but it really is awful. The worst part I that you can see where they cook the food and the cleanliness of it would make anyone’s skin crawl. We ate lunch one time out at a restaurant but it was five times the price and less food, so I gave up!
