One thing I’ve learned from all these trips is not only that you never want to bring something that if it was stolen or lost you would be too upset, its that it is important to spoil yourself somewhere during the day by having a routine of something you would do at home. My spoiler is called Clarines and Fresh. I have Clarins facial scrub and tonic that I use every morning to clean my face along with Fresh Chap Stick, which lives in my fridge since it melts when placed elsewhere. Both are ridiculous expensive but make me feel a little less nasty. I also bought some shampoo that smells like lavender and is able to cover up my smells if I get really sweaty during the day.
In terms of food there is a bag of pistachio nuts, m and m (chocolate is a necessity) in my fridge along with a bag of Swedish cinnamon rolls I plan to keep sealed till I reach half way through my trip. I might not make it but I’ll try.
In terms of mental necessities, I always have a little red notebook my dad gave me my first week of college with a little note inside of it and a collection of addresses I’ve collected over my travels. An old shirt from Bjorn, and earrings my brother gave me for x-mas. And thankfully my computer contains over 6, 712 photos, which I can browse through.
