Pot for cooking the liquid for the soap
Bars of soap in storage
The label of AEM on the soap, if you can see it...kind of a bad photo

This is a photo taken at AEM. It is all the buckets and pots the women use to make their soap. The create two different types of soap, one to washing clothes and one to wash your body. the scent comes from local plants and is made on the side of the house
This is exactly what you think it is, an instructional penis. This is used during the lectures to teach young women how to use a condom. The thing just kind of lies around the NGO in different rooms. It is literally the only penis in the whole place.

This is a bag of water, which the women also sell to make some money. you just bite into the top and suck the water out. i can't drink it since its local water but it looks like a lot of fun.

Mirabelle holding up a little container of juice which the women also sell.
The women at AEM try to make enough money to support themselves, their families and the clinic. Last year however, a chief from one of the villages came to see all the work the women had done and was very impressed by the way the women were working so he offered to give them a bit of advertisement on the radio. While it was a nice thought for him, after he announced on the radio that these women have HIV, no one was willing to buy water from them out of fear they had contaminated it with HIV. Also there is a huge fear that washing yourself with something that someone with HIV washed themselves with will give you AIDS. It is basically impossible, for those of you who don't know to pass AIDS outside of the body. And only one clinical study proven where a woman got HIV from kissing, but the other person was bleeding a lot so i don't know why they were kissing in the first place!
I just started thinking about all the food i left in my house, im sure its going to stick, dirty dishes and food in a lot of heat for 3 days....ewwww
