late night visitor

I had to write this story now even though its 3 am…My story begins with me finally getting to sleep after a long struggle of it being too hot. I’m fast asleep but feel this weird feeling coming up my leg, in half of a daze I realize its something crawling up my leg. Sometimes I think sweat is something crawling on my leg but that goes down, this feeling was coming straight for my crotch. Still asleep I go to swat what is usually just a fly but I hit something with my hand that is MUCH BIGGER. I panic jump out of bed and turn the lights on…I see nothing. I pull my sheets off, and pillows one by one looking for what I think is a lizard that just crawled up my leg. I see nothing, and then hope I made it all up. As I begin to write in my journal, completely awake now, I turn towards the clock to check to see the time and there from behind the clock a face is peering out with its long antennae. It’s a cockroach! I quickly grab the fastest thing I could which was this Costco sized bug spray can and cover this thing in toxic fumes. It’s running like a crazy person trying to hide behind things on my bed frame and I’m covering it in this crap. I find a shoe and try to give it a good whack but it goes behind my bed. I’ve tested this spray on other cockroaches, which have died after 5 minutes, but those have been very tiny little ones, this was the mother of all cockroaches. Probably the size of my two thumbs put together. I tried to move the bedside table to see if it was hiding behind it, moving the statue of mother Mary and Jesus first. I’m terrified I’m going to break them, and just as I step on the side of the bed, the edge of the bed sheet pops up, and I scream bloody murder, because I thought it was that thing on my foot. Calming down I try to push my bed away from the wall to look behind but it’s a bit too heavy so I get it a little bit, and mostly regret seeing how dirty it is behind there. I couldn’t find my friend again but I think I sprayed him with enough chemicals in a can to kill a small dog. I know cockroaches are harmless but to have it on your body is a whole new thing. Now its 3 am and I’m wide awake because I’m afraid of the rat size insect in my room, but thankfully I don’t have to get up tomorrow. Also I cant get the image of the cockroach peering out from behind my clock, knowing that I’m looking for him!

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww
