Eyebrows

It’s June!! Only 4 days left. I thought today I would talk about a trend that I’ve seen more and more here and it has to do with eyebrows. But first the story starts back at my middle/high school, where the woman at the front desk told me every week not to tweeze my eyebrows too much or that they would never grow back. These words of wisdom came from experience for her, and we always referred to her as “no eyebrow lady” so you can guess what she looked like. But in Burkina all the women seem to follow this trend but instead of tweezing them, they shave them, every morning and then draw them on with eyeliner. Usually in some odd shape and/or very think and way too long. The ever weirder thing is that when they start to sweat half of one of their eyebrow droops a little bit, or is half rubbed off, it is not a good look or trend, I hope it doesn’t catch on elsewhere…
