My bags are pack I’m ready to go. I just took my last bucket shower, washed my hair for the last time and tried to clean up a bit. Cleaning here is virtually impossible. Its like trying to remove all the sand when you live on the beach, except this is dust. I worked for about two hours and then gave up, hoping that the owner understands I’m foreign and cleaning this place is just impossible. He did leave me with NO CLEANING SUPPLIES, I bought sponges and soap and things but honestly how do you expect people to keep your place clean if they are temporarily living in it if you don’t have any cleaning stuff. I swept the floors then moped the floors, then scrubbed the bathroom but dirt is still everywhere so I give up. Also I have a bit of back pain again, which I hoping is not my past disease coming back it did seem to coincide with me finishing my medication…But if it is the same thing I still have a day before I get really sick and then I’ll be in Sweden and I can go to the doctors. I must admit though that I did not sleep very well last night and it was not due to the back pain but the thought of finally coming home. I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited to leave a place before, maybe Mount Holyoke sometimes, but I cant wait to be on that plane back. In 16 hours I’ll be in paris at 6 am eating a warm croissant and reading the paper. I’ve always love Africa but for now, I think a quiet café with a nice shower is just what the doctor ordered.
